6. Download any leaflets and banners from the
Campaign Downloads section, print them out in colour and distribute
them in your locality.
7. If you personally know any relatives of any
prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, inform them about this site and ask
them to get in touch with us, as we need their help in getting
photos, letters and details about their prisoner relatives.
8. Download the Imam Letter from the Campaign
Downloads section, print it out and give it to your local Imam
or Khateeb. Try to convince of the need to mention the plight
of the prisoners in their Friday speeches, khutbahs and sermons.
Also inform them of this site, where they can find further information,
such as Quranic evidences, stories and facts, to help in preparation
of their sermon.
9. Write and get your children to write and make
cards, to the cage prisoners at Guantanamo Bay at the following
address:
Address your letter to:
[NAME OF DETAINEE] - Obtain from the Prisoners
section of the site
160 Camp X-Ray
Washington DC 2053
USA
Put the letter in an envelope and send it to the
address below so that it can be forwarded to the named captive
through the Red Cross:
Shaz Manir
c/o BTUC
Gazette Buildings
168 Corporation Street
Birmingham B4 6TF
UNITED KINGDOM
Expect around a month for your letter to reach
the prisoners, as the US authorities scrutinise every letter in
detail and black out whatever they want.
10. For British detainees, write an email to the
UK Attorney General, highlighting the following points:
· That the detainees should be returned to Britain.
· That the charges against the detainees be published.
· That the detainees should have access to unrestricted legal
representation.
. That the detainees should have access to contact their families
and vice-versa.
. Demand to know why the British Government has been silent for
so long on the plight of the British cage prisoners.
Send your letters to lslo@gtnet.gov.uk.
Be polite, brief and to the point. Post any copies
of replies you receive, on Letter section of the Cage Prisoners
Discussion Forum. Be sure to include the header section of the
reply (i.e. date, from and to email addresses etc.), or a scanned
image of the letter, to validate its authencity.
11. For all other detainees, write to your local
American Embassy demanding an explanation for this unlawful imprisonment
of these captives (which includes children) in cages. Also ask
for an explanation why no formal apology or compensation has been
given to those who have been released.
In the UK, the address to write to is:
The American Embassy, London
24 Grosvenor Square
London W1A 1AE
UNITED KINGDOM
For all other US embassies, obtain the contact
details from:
http://www.embassyworld.com/embassy/usa.htm

of replies you receive, on Letters section of the Cage Prisoners
Discussion Forum. Be sure to include the header section of the
reply (i.e. date, from and to email addresses etc.), or a scanned
image of the letter, to validate its authencity.
12. Write to your local Pakistani Embassy (since
over 80% of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay were captured and
handed over by Pakistan) demanding an explanation for why these
captives were handed over directly to the US authorities without
following any due legal process, and why they were not handed
over to their countries of origin. Also ask for an explanation
why many of the prisoners were stripped naked, fun made of their
naked bodies, had their money taken and were tortured by Pakistani
Intelligence agents, before being sent to Guantanamo Bay. Ask
if this treatment is the 'Moderate Islam' that the Pakistani authorities
stress on implementing, or if it is extremism. Write letters in
this regard to the English language Pakistani newspapers as well,
at http://www.nation.com.pk and http://www.dawn.com.
Details of Pakistani Embassies Worldwide are at

13. Organise demonstrations and picketing outside
Pakistani Embassies (since over 80% of the prisoners at Guantanamo
Bay were captured and handed over by Pakistan) and US Embassies
worldwide. Remain within the law of the country that you are in,
obtain appropriate permission from the local authorities if you
need to, be orderly, but make your point heard loud and clear.
Picketing ideas include dressing up in orange
jumpsuits, with ear and eye goggles, carrying signs and boards.
The more money and time that goes into organising a picket, the
more it is effective and well-attended.
14. Convey the information about the cage prisoners
to your local Islamic organisations, movements, newspapers, magazines
and web-sites to create awareness. Encourage them to organise
events and conferences. Merely raising awareness on the human
rights of prisoners held in cages worse than those of animals,
does not 'blacklist' a person, nor cause a house raid and search
by the authorities!
15. Make dua for the cage prisoners, in public
and private. In public gatherings, Friday Khutbahs, talks, speeches
and lectures. In private, in your prayers, in Ramadan, whilst
fasting and in Tahajjud night prayers.
